Lord Mayor thanks local Ujima 98FM for our support during his past year in office

Ujima’s Caroline Oldland and Roger Griffiths joined the Lord Mayor and Mayoress at Mansion House, Clifton for an official thank you to local press and media. The Lord Mayor who leaves office in May talked passionately about his year and some of the key highlights. Guests were treated to a historical insight and tour of Mansion House that was a gift to the city in 1874 by Alderman Thomas Proctor. It was designed by George and Henry Goodwin in 1867. As well as an enormous collection of original furniture, paintings and artefacts it contains a museum on Bristol’s civic history.

The Mayor said” This year has been an incredible experience for myself, the Lady Mayoress and our family and one that we treasure. It has been a real privilege to represent Bristol and indeed to visit almost every part of the City. I realise that I could not have undertaken the role without the support of the local press and I would like to take the opportunity to thank you all”
