Tweet Ujima radio’s Milo (Lyrical Minded Sun 8-10pm) has presented and written a script for the Radio 4 documentary ‘DJ Derek a Local Legend’.  You can hear the programme on Radio 4 on Fri 1st June at 11am. DJ Derek (born Derek Morris 1942) is a Bristol-based DJ whose blend of 60s rocksteady, reggae, ska, dancehall and soul music has made him an icon for many in the industry, including a host of Jamaican producers and Massive Attack.DJ Derek spent 10–18 years working as an accountant at Cadburys, yet gave it up to play reggae in the St Pauls area of Bristol. Tweet The torch will arrive today, 22 May, in Bitton at 5pm. It will be carried into the city from Hanham before covering 13 miles of Bristol’s roads over a period of 15 hours. Tens of thousands of people are expected to come out today and tomorrow to cheer the torchbearers as they carry the flame through the streets in the once-in-a-lifetime event. The torch will be taken along Church Road in St George to Old Market and Castle Park (around at 6.45 pm) before reaching the city docks and sailing down the river under Prince Street bridge to Millennium Square for arriving by boat at the Amphitheatre evening celebration approximately at 7.20 pm.
