St Paul’s Afrikan & Caribbean Carnival invites you to its AGM

The St Paul’s Afrikan & Caribbean Carnival  hopes that you are well and we wish to inform you of our Annual General Meeting (AGM) that will take place on December 12th 6-8pm at the Malcolm X Centre.

The AGM will consist of a review of 2013-2014 financial year as well as sharing our plans for the year ahead. You will be able to vote in new Board members and there will also be proposed changes to both membership and our constitution which will  also need to be voted on.

Formal AGM business aside we will be joined by esteemed Steel Pan veteran Michael ‘Bubbles’ Olivier who will give a steel pan demonstration as well as an interview regarding his extensive experience within both the Notting Hill Carnival and growing up with the Trinidad Carnival.  ‘Bubbles’ features as a session musician on our anthem ‘Carnival Time Again’ which will be available to download from December 1st.  The accompanying video for the anthem  will  be premiered on the evening.

More details will be circulated ahead of the AGM including details of prospective new Board Members. This email  is to give you as a member the required notice period and for you to mark the date in your diary.

Please note that there will also be an evening of entertainment following the AGM at the Malcolm X Centre. ‘United Expressions’ organised by Bristol Sankofa Link will be a fundraiser and awareness event regarding the Ebola virus. We will circulate the flyer in due course.

We look forward to seeing you there and then.
