Ujima’s Old Skool Cruising Show – Apprenticeship Takeover special. March 30th 2015 by Theoldskoolcruisinshow on Mixcloud

Ujima continues to promote access into employment routes for our listeners and local communities. Following our series of Apprentice Shows with Junior Saunders in two of last four years we were pleased to again host another Apprentice Show Special.
This time it was on the OSC show hosted by Roger Griffith AKA – The G-Man and Safia, to promote the benefits of apprenticeships to employers. Special guests included James Wilmot from WTPN and Weston College, Helen Sinclair-Ross, Bristol City Council plus three young apprentices talked about their positive experiences. In addition Nicky Williams from West of England Local Enterprise Partnership provided information for employers plus we had contributions from other employers and training providers. We had Avon and Somerset Police Esther Wride email with their new Apprentices https://www.avonandsomerset.police.uk/about-us/recruitment/police-staff-

We also focused on how Weston and Cirencester Colleges support Apprentices in their education and employment.
Ujima Radio provides an excellent way of engaging with different and diverse communities using media as a way of organisations connecting with our 24,000 listeners live or recorded and edited into a podcast as well as our range of great value advertising and sponsorship packages.
This was the fourth OSC Employment Special with previous shows including Dr Stephen Fear’s Business Remedies, recruitment in Avon and Somerset Police with Chief Inspector Norman Pascal and a special programme with BBC Bristol and BCFM focusing on black male unemployment which reaches 20% in those communities.
