Go Dad Run in Bristol

Did you know that 1 in 4 men from an African Caribbean background suffer from Prostate cancer!!!!?

To find out more tune into the Crusin show with Mistri this Friday as he’ll be speaking with the Olympic Champion Colin Jackson who will tell us about his new charity project called Go Dad Run, a running fundraiser that aims to raise awareness about Prostate Cancer.

Go Dad Run is something Colin created himself in 2013 to raise awareness off and funds for Prostate Cancer UK after two of his uncles suffered from it and, sadly, only one survived. Go Dad Run He was shocked to discover that 1 in 8 men in the UK will develop prostate cancer and that rises to 1 in 4 men from a black African-Caribbean background so he is very keen to try and reach that community to make them aware and also get them running and being a part of the project.   It is now a series of 5k and 10k runs for men and boys during June and this year we have runs in London, Cardiff, Isle of Man, Sunderland, Worcester and Bristol. The Bristol runs are on Saturday June 18th, the day before Father’s Day, and will take place at the Ashton Court Estate with Colin there to set the runners off. And our headline sponsor is also a Bristol based company, Sanlam UK. cj44 copy 2   This year we have introduced a 10K as well as the 5K and boys under the age of 10 can run for free in the 5K if accompanied by a registered adult.
