United Housing Association are celebrating 30 years. United Housing was formed in 1986 with the prime objective of advocating and providing good quality, affordable housing and related services for the black and minority ethnic (BME) community in Bristol. It was set up because the needs of the BME community were not being met satisfactorily by the local authority or existing housing associations.

United became the largest independent BME registered housing association in the South West and now provided over 1,000 homes across Bristol into Bath & North East Somerset, South Gloucestershire, and Swindon.
