Prostate Cancer Awareness Day for Men & Women

The fact is 1 in 4 black men will get prostate cancer at some point in their lives. Knowing this we must act now to understand the issues surrounding the disease and the most up-to-date treatment or methods to alleviate the effects of the disease not only the effects of symptoms physically, but all effects on the family.

(1 in 4 lifetime risk was worked out using information about men recorded as ‘Black African’, ‘Black Caribbean’ and ‘Black Other‘. We did not include ‘Black mixed’ as there was not have enough data about this group in the records. (text from
