Simon Nelson speaks about Bayard Rustin @ M Shed 18th Feb

Simon Nelson (Bristol City Council Equalities Team) is speaking about Bayard Rustin, a Black civil right activist who was a close associate of Martin Luther King, organiser of the 1963 March on Washington and an advocate for LGBT rights.

The talk is part of ‘Outing The Past’ LGBT History Month event at M Shed on 18th Feb, 12-4.30pm.

It’s free admission and Simon is likely to talk 3pm – 3.30pm.

The event is in association with Out Bristol…the programme includes a tour of M Shed from an LGBT & artistic perspective by performer Tom Marshman, poetry readings by UK LGBT poet laureate Trudy Howson, talks about HIV campaigning by the Brigstowe Project, Lesbians in Mainstream Feminism by Lori Streich, The LGBT Mapping Project by Outstories and various LGBT History stalls and stands.
